Our sweet spot is 10–100 employees — large enough to have real structural complexity, small enough to move fast. We work with owner-operated businesses, startups, and founder-led companies across all industries.

Absolutely. Remote consulting is completely standard and we work with companies across the country — particularly in Mississippi, Texas, and Georgia. Louisiana-based clients are welcome at all price points.

The Assessment is the diagnostic — you get a complete picture of what is working and what isn't, plus prioritized recommendations. The Sprint builds the full solution. Many clients start with the Assessment and proceed to the Sprint, with the $1,500 fee credited toward the full engagement.

Most clients invest 4–6 hours of internal time over the full engagement. We do the heavy lifting. You can expect a 90-minute kickoff, 30–60 minute leadership interviews during Phase 1, periodic check-ins, and a final presentation call.

Sprint engagements are 50% at signing and 50% at final delivery. Assessments are paid in full at signing. Retainers are billed monthly with a 3-month minimum commitment.

Once your contract is signed and payment received, we begin within 5 business days. Discovery calls are typically available within a few days of booking.

The CEO was carrying 6 direct reports. Decisions stalled daily waiting for her approval. What Your Org Chart Is Actually Telling You

An org chart is a map — not of how you want things to work, but of how decisions actually get made, where accountability lives, and what path problems travel before they get resolved. When that map is missing or outdated, it means the organization has been growing without a design intention behind it.

Most small businesses reach 20–30 employees before anyone draws their first honest org chart. By that point, the structure that exists is not the one anyone chose — it is the one that accumulated.

Three Signs Your Structure Is the Real Problem

The 90-Day Onboarding Framework Every Growing Company Needs

Most small businesses have an onboarding program that lasts about three days. Day one is paperwork. Day two is a team tour. Day three is "here's your login — figure it out." Then they wonder why their new hire is still asking basic questions at week six.

Why 30 Days Is Not Enough

Employees who experience a structured 90-day onboarding process are significantly more likely to remain at the company for three or more years. Yet most small business onboarding ends before the employee fully understands their role, the culture, or what success looks like.

The Three-Phase Framework We Build

Days 1–30: Learn. Focus on orientation, systems access, and understanding the company's mission and how the employee's role contributes to it. Weekly check-ins with their manager.
Days 31–60: Contribute. The employee begins taking ownership of core responsibilities with decreasing supervision. Midpoint review conversation.
Days 61–90: Lead. The employee is functioning independently and beginning to identify improvements. Final 90-day review.

The 15-Employee Inflection Point

At around 15 employees, informal communication stops working. When a business has 10 people, information travels through conversations. At 15, things start to fall through the cracks. This is when you need your first documented processes, clear role definitions, and a regular team communication cadence.

The 25-Employee Inflection Point

At 25 employees, a formal management layer becomes necessary. The business owner can no longer effectively supervise everyone. This is when the company needs its first true managers with clear authority and accountability.

The 40-Employee Inflection Point

What a RACI Matrix Actually Does (And Why Your Team Needs One)

RACI stands for Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed. It is a simple framework that answers one of the most disruptive questions in any growing company: who owns this decision?

Breaking Down the Four Roles

Responsible: The person who does the work. There should usually be exactly one person responsible for each decision.
Accountable: The person who owns the outcome — answerable if it does not happen.
Consulted: People whose input should be sought before the decision is made.
Informed: People who need to know what was decided, but who do not influence the decision.

The Most Common Mistake

The most common mistake small businesses make is having too many people in the Responsible column. When two people are both responsible for the same outcome, neither truly is. Clarity requires naming one person — and that naming often requires uncomfortable conversations.

A RACI matrix is one of the core deliverables we build in every Sprint engagement. It is not a corporate bureaucracy tool — it is a communication and accountability tool that pays for itself in the first month of use.

Five HR Policies Every Small Business Needs Before Employee #10

You do not need a comprehensive employee handbook before your first hire. But you do need a handful of foundational policies before your team reaches ten people — because that is when informal agreements start creating real legal and operational risk.

"Most small businesses do not think about HR policies until there is a problem. The goal is to have them before the problem creates the need."

The Five Policies

1. PTO and Leave Policy

How does paid time off work? How much do employees accrue, when can they use it, and what happens to unused time? Without a written policy, you will answer this question differently every time someone asks.

2. Harassment and Discrimination Policy

Federal law requires that employees understand their rights and your company's commitment to a harassment-free workplace. This policy must exist, be distributed, and be acknowledged in writing.

3. Disciplinary Process

When something goes wrong, how do you handle it? A written progressive disciplinary process protects the company legally and gives managers a consistent path to follow.

4. Remote Work or Workplace Expectations Policy

Whether in-person, remote, or hybrid — documenting expectations around hours, availability, and communication prevents ambiguity before it becomes conflict.

5. Confidentiality and Data Protection Policy

A basic confidentiality policy — reinforced with an acknowledgment signature — protects your business in the event of a departure or dispute.
